Courtney Van Der Scheer - Clinical Nutritionist

My interest in women’s health and nutrition began in my teens when I first worked with nutritionists to support competitive rowing and swimming. Although I initially pursued a career in finance as a Chartered Accountant, becoming a mum of four boys brought me back to my original passion; understanding the body, health and nutrition on a deeper level. I went on to study nutrition and naturopathy and am now a Registered Clinical Nutritionist.

My own health journey shapes the way I practise today. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in my early twenties and was told I would likely need specialist support to have children. After IVF for my first child, I became determined to understand my symptoms, improve my metabolic and hormonal health, and support my body naturally. Through nutrition, stress management and sleep optimisation, I experienced significant improvements, and conceived my next three babies without intervention.

This lived experience, combined with ongoing clinical training, influences how I support women now. I work at the intersection of hormones, metabolism, blood sugar, gut health and perimenopause, and I’m committed to helping women feel informed and empowered rather than confused or dismissed. I’m a research geek at heart, always staying up to date with the latest developments in nutrition and women’s health. I love collaborating with other practitioners and sharing knowledge openly. It’s a privilege to do this work, and I look forward to supporting you on your health journey.

Our support network is so important to sustainable change and if you are going to achieve your goals, then we need to work with you and everything else that influences who you are and what you do.

There is no one-sized fits all approach to health, so I tailor your treatment plans to meet your needs, health journey and way of life. I am not a believer in fad diets or calorie counting. Rather, nourishing our bodies with whole, unprocessed foods. I am, however, a big believer in making sustainable changes work for you. I know what it’s like to run a busy household, and I’m realistic with meal plans, preparation and how to make any changes you need, to work with your lifestyle.

HOLISTIC

I incorporate proven natural medicine techniques, the latest scientific findings and thorough laboratory analyses to tailor a treatment plan specifically for you. As someone committed to lifelong learning, I constantly enhance my knowledge and skills to provide you with the best possible service. Your symptoms often do not reflect the true nature of the problem, and often there’s something else going on that might be the issue. Understanding what that is, is fundamental to achieving long-term health, and I’m dedicated to uncovering the cause of these symptoms.
